Artist's Portrait Of Queen Heads To Buckingham Palace

We have been following talented Yorkshire artist Shany Hagan's work with interest as she uses her artistic skills to raise money for charity.

In recognition for having reached over £250k for 30 charities, Shany was honoured and delighted to receive a letter of thanks for all her charity work from the late Queen, only a month ago.

When Shany heard the news of The Queen's passing she was determined to do her bit and immediately started work on another portrait to mark the late Queen's life.

"I finished my second painting of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and once it has been framed I will be heading to London on Sunday to place it outside Buckingham Palace for one of HM Queen's charities to collect," Shany told the p.ublished group of online newspapers.

"I adore and respect HM Queen Elizabeth and wanted to attend her funeral, especially as she only sent me the letter a few weeks ago.

"I will continue to help charities and I am donating this painting to one of her charities. The Queen loved to be seen in bright colours, so that is the theme of my painting, a colourful piece of art especially for her," she said.

Shany started painting two years ago after having eye surgery and it is her unique way of giving something back after the NHS restored her vision through a 'miracle operation'.
