York City Make Double Signing As New Alternate Strip Is Revealed

York City have announced their first contract renewals from their successful promotion campaign last season, with both Paddy McLaughlin and Maxim Kouogun signing on for The Minstermen’s return to the National League.

Paddy McLaughlin was the first to confirm his stay in the walled City, making the upcoming season his 7th with the club.

The Irish midfielder was one of the key factors in York’s playoff winning season and whilst captaining the team to victory, he also chipped in with five goals in all competitions. The goals featured throughout his 46 appearances, just seven shy of the top appearance maker, Pete Jameson.

Defensive rock Maxim Kouogun was the next to have his new contract announced, following a mid-season transfer from Shelbourne, which turned out to be well worth it, as Kouogun appeared 26 times for The Minstermen.

His solitary goal which came against Telford sealed a 3-1 win for York, and the Cameroonian centre-half will be hoping for another great season at the back, this time at a step higher.

Along with Kouogun’s renewal, he also modelled the new alternate strip, which features ‘Chocolate and Cream’ stripes, inspired by the city’s chocolate-making heritage, and was also worn in the 1930s. The centenary third kit will be available to order in July.
