Theme Park ‘Oscar’ For Swedish Attraction

Sweden’s premier theme park, Liseberg, has beaten the Americans at their own game, winning an LA industry ‘Oscar’ in recognition of its high standards of excellence and achievement.

Opened in 1923, Liseberg is an amusement park located in Gothenburg and, with around three million visitors a year, is Scandinavia’s largest attraction of its type.

Now, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), an international non-profit association representing creators, developers, designers and producers of themed entertainment, has presented the Swedish park with a THEA Awards.

Given annually since 1995 they exemplify the highest standards of excellence and achievement in individuals, parks, attractions, exhibits, and experiences within the themed entertainment industry.

Liseberg has been recognized with a THEA Classic Award – the equivalent of an industry Oscar – at a ceremony in Los Angeles.

The award was given with the following comment:“Liseberg has masterfully woven a tapestry of enchantment through its diverse attractions, lush gardens, immersive recreation zones, exhibitions, and a calendar brimming with seasonal festivities.

“Their respect for every individual and their core values set a benchmark for excellence, teamwork, empathy, and transparency, even in difficult times. Liseberg's story is a testament to what can be achieved when people unite under shared goals.”

With the THEA Classic Award, Liseberg joins the exclusive company of world-renowned parks such as Europa-Park in Germany, Puy du Fou in France, and the San Diego Zoo in the USA.

Additionally, some of Disney’s most iconic attractions have also received this prestigious prize.
