Skipton Music’s season finale features Connaught Brass, winners of the inaugural Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition (2019) and the Royal Over-Seas League Mixed Ensemble Competition (2022).
Frank Finlay, Chair of Skipton Music, said:
“We're thrilled to welcome Connaught Brass to Skipton for what promises to be a resounding finale to our season. This virtuosic and versatile, award-winning British brass quintet are making waves at home and abroad; after prestige appearances at the Lucerne Festival, Wigmore Hall and on BBC Radio 3's "In Tune", they will be peforming a characteristically bold and vibrant programme which includes folk-tinged miniatures from Northern Europe alongside works by Michael Tilson Thomas and Clara Schumann, amongst others. The Connaughts will bring down the curtain on our season with a special arrangement unlike any other of the Suite from The Threepenny Opera, the most toe-tapping, famous and enduring of all the collaborations between Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.”
The performance takes place on Tuesday 19 March at Skipton Town Hall. Tickets available online
