Sheffield's Mason Dickinson and Dylan Trevor are gearing up for action on their home turf this Saturday, October 4th, as they feature on a Dennis Hobson-promoted show that will be broadcast live and free on Fightzone.

Dickinson Eyes Redemption Against Respected Journeyman

For Mason Dickinson, 24, the upcoming bout represents another step in his journey back from a sole defeat to Carlos Rodriguez last year. After getting back to winning ways against southpaw Nathan Darby in March, Dickinson is now preparing to face one of his toughest tests yet in Connor Meanwell.

Meanwell brings an impressive record of durability, having been stopped just six times in 33 professional contests and Dickinson is under no illusions about the challenge ahead.
"I'm expecting my toughest fight yet without a doubt," Dickinson admitted. "Connor is a very respected journeyman who honestly doesn't get enough credit, and is constantly disrespected and overlooked. He's a very dangerous opponent and anything less than my best won't be enough on the night."

The March victory over Darby proved pivotal for Dickinson's confidence after experiencing that KO defeat to Rodriguez. "It was exactly what I needed," he said. "A tough bout against a southpaw which was a first for my professional career, and coming back after a devastating loss. It was a huge mental obstacle, but overcoming that has shown me the inner strength I have, and the resiliency that will carry me throughout my career."

When asked about his future plans and potential step-ups in opposition, Dickinson emphasised his trust in his team to guide him on the right career path.

"Business as always, in one way or another since day one, each opponent has been a step up," he explained. "Same this time, same next time. Boxing never gets easier, so I have to adapt each fight and prove people wrong. If people doubt me right now, more fool them, because it's my job and my responsibility to prove them wrong."

For Dickinson, returning to his home city to fight again is always special. "It was only March, but it feels a lifetime away. I need Saturday night, I need to hear that crowd and feel the adrenaline. I'm not good at many things, but when it comes to boxing it's what I'm best at and I know it can take me far with the right opportunities."

Trevor Looks to Maintain Momentum

Meanwhile, Dylan Trevor continues his development as he prepares to face George Rogers, another durable opponent who has been stopped just twice in 39 fights.

"I'm expecting him to come have a real go," Trevor said of Rogers. "He throws a lot of shots and can be very awkward by the looks of it. I'm coming fully prepared for a full four rounder because he doesn't usually get stopped."

Trevor's last outing against experienced operator Dale Arrowsmith also provided valuable learning opportunities for the 26-year-old. "Dale was a great bit of experience for me to get another four rounds in the bank and use it to progress myself," he reflected. "Dale's a great guy and super experienced so it was good to be in there with him."

The Sheffield native has shown rapid improvement since making his professional debut in March, and he's eager to continue developing as a fighter.

"I'm staying busy and progressing every single fight, feeling and looking better with each one," Trevor stated. "I have come on massively since my debut in March. I'm happy to keep the ball rolling and staying ready for every opportunity that comes my way."

Fighting in front of his home crowd is something Trevor never takes for granted. "Boxing in my home town is an honour most don't have so I am grateful for this," he said. "I always have the place packed out and my lot are the loudest and brightest fans there are, so I'm looking forward to putting on another show."

With both Sheffield fighters looking to impress on home soil, October 4th promises to deliver exciting action for the Yorkshire boxing faithful.
