Motorsport fans enjoyed a special evening with racing car driver Daniel Lloyd raising awareness and funds for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice while discovering a range of supercars at the newly restored Three Acres Inn, near Huddersfield.
The ‘Ignition’ event was the brainchild of BTCC driver Daniel, who has been an ambassador for Forget Me Not since 2012. Daniel and The 3 Acres, together with JCT 600 Rolls-Royce Cars, Leeds arranged a stunning line up of supercars including a Rolls Royce Cullinan, a Bentley Continental GT Black edition and an Aston Martin Vanquish. Attendees also enjoyed a chance to take a supercar through its paces in two FP Zero racing simulators.
The evening brought together long-term supporters of Forget Me Not children’s hospice as well as new friends to learn more about the work the charity does and the impact that has on local children and families. Like Hollie Shaw, one of the young people supported by Forget Me Not, whose speech led to a standing ovation from the audience.
There was fundraising too, with an auction of some amazing prizes including a diamond pendant donated by Lister Horsfall and a whisky barrel donated by New Cample Bond.
Daniel, from Scammonden, near Huddersfield has been racing touring cars and karts since he was 11 years old and this year is once again racing in the British Touring Car Championships with Restart Racing. Since becoming an ambassador for Forget Me Not, he has frequently helped out with fundraisers, appeals and events. In 2023, Daniel invited children at Forget Me Not to design a special one-off pair of race boots which he wore over the course of a race weekend.
Daniel said, “It’s been an absolute honour to be part of the journey with Forget Me Not for over 10 years and I feel very fortunate to be in a position where I can bring an event like this together.
“The work they do at Russell House and out in the community is just incredible. I’m so pleased the event has been a success and that so many people have come out, dug deep for the kids and their families and made Ignition a night to remember.”

Gareth Pierce, CEO at Forget Me Not said, “Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is facing challenging times, with rising costs and a difficult fundraising environment at a time when we see increasing demand for the support we offer to babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire. That’s why we’re so grateful when people like Daniel come along and do the kind of things that only they can do - something extra special that adds to the magical mix that is Forget Me Not.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved - Daniel Lloyd, The 3 Acres, event sponsors Millers Oils and New Cample Bond and JCT 600 Rolls-Royce Cars, Leeds. And of course to everyone who joined us at this inspirational event.”
