New Running Apparel Brand, EDRA, Launched In Leeds By Leeds

Marathon winner and former Great Britain representative EDRA, a new British running apparel brand, was launched this week in Leeds with its complete summer running collection showing ‘strong early sales and a great reaction across socials’.

It was founded by Nathan Edmondson, a Leeds-based former professional cyclist and competitive runner, who has represented Great Britain in mountain running.

The brand takes its name from “the River Aire, the river that runs straight through the city Nathan calls home, and the brand has been built and tested with input from runners across the Leeds road, trail and fell scene”.

Every piece in the EDRA collection carries its signature mark, ‘a line tracing the curve of the River Aire, as a nod to ‘where the brand began’.

On his reasons for setting up the brand, Edmondson said: “Most of the design choices came from things that have annoyed me over the years: kit that rides up, rubs, traps heat or gives you one more thing to think about when you're already working hard. I wanted to fix that for runners here before anyone else."

EDRA launched with ‘Drop 1 – a full system for summer running', meaning there are items for not only race day but also everyday running.

The organisation ensured that all of their products are perfect after undergoing ‘multiple rounds of sampling and testing by elite runners’.

FLOATLITE™ Half Tight, built around EDRA's CONVEY™, is the signature piece of this collection, as it was built to ‘combine race-ready performance with serious carrying capacity from multiple gels to your phone and keys, the ultimate marathon and long-run companion’.

EDRA has also created its first collection to focus on three different ranges of architecture, including:
FLOATLITE™ - Race-ready range, highest lightweight tech.
CHANNEL™ - Core sports range, wicking, lightweight sports capability with a more durable weight structure.
CONVEY™ - Items with carrying capacity right at the core.


On the price, which runs from £15 to £75, and usability of the brand, Edmondson said: “Good running brands should inspire people to run and take part, not make them feel like they're on the outside looking in."

‘EDRA's site is live nationwide now, but its real focus over the coming months is building roots with Leeds-run clubs and races, with a wider national push planned for 2027.'
