Mother Shipton's Cave Is Celebrating

Mother Shipton’s Cave is celebrating two great achievements. The attraction, which has been open since 1630, was ranked at Number 2 on The Daily Mail’s ‘Ten Great Days Out to Have this Summer’ and has also been named as a finalist in the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards.

“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award and to have been mentioned by the Daily Mail as one of ten great days out in the UK.” says Fiona Martin, owner of Mother Shipton’s.

Visitors to Mother Shipton’s Cave learn about the famous Yorkshire prophetess who was born in a cave beside the River Nidd in 1488, and see the magical Petrifying Well with cascading water that turns objects to stone. Great for all the family, the attraction has a large adventure playground and themed events during school holidays.

This Summer, you can visit Mother Shipton’s for £30 per car for up to 7 people in the car. Admission includes access to the Pixie Village woodland trail, adventure playground, Petrifying Well, museum and gift shop.

Tickets are limited and visitors must pre-book online.
