Explore Yorkshire With An Exclusive Wine Tasting Challenge At Hotel Victoria

Hotel Victoria is collaborating with Robin Hood’s Bay Vineyard to stage an intimate and relaxed wine tasting challenge on Thursday 27th November from 6.30pm.
Local wine experts - Ian Sheveling, Owner of the Bay Vineyard and Ashley Howe, Winery Manager - will showcase a number of exquisite Yorkshire wines from small, independent or family run vineyards and wineries from across the region. They will share their knowledge about wine making in Yorkshire; provide insights into how wine is produced; unveil details about the history of the vineyard; and delve into the inspiration behind setting up a vineyard on a hillside above the bay.
The wine tasting experience will take guests on a journey of discovery and exploration, where they will savour the flavours of some of the region’s most celebrated wines, learning about how to appreciate the finer points of tasting from recognising scents to identifying flavours. The event will culminate in a fun quiz, encouraging guests to test out their newfound knowledge.
The hotel’s award-winning chef, Ryan Osborne, has carefully curated a selection of Yorkshire themed Tapas that will blend perfectly with and enhance the flavour of the wines. The charcuterie boards will feature the very best of local produce with a selection of cheese and cured meats from award-winning independent cheesemonger, Cryer & Scott.
