Daish’s Holidays, an independent family-owned coach holiday company, is busy decking the halls of what promises to be a busy festive season. With guests booked in across the company’s 11 hotels, including the Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough, the company is looking forward to this year’s much-loved Tinsel & Turkey, Christmas, and Twixmas breaks.

Daish’s Holidays expects guests to tuck into:

18,000 Christmas turkey dinners

16,000 slices of Christmas pudding

and a staggering 20,000 mince pies - enough to create a pastry line longer than 30 football pitches if placed side by side

To accompany the feasting:

350 bottles of mulled wine are to be poured – enough to fill a bubbling 250-litre hot tub

As well as feasting, guests will:

pull approximately 24,000 crackers – if laid end-to-end this would form a chain about 4.5 miles long, roughly the length of 3,700 reindeer lined up nose-to-tail

open one of 18,000 gifted baubles - enough to decorate more than 900 six-foot Christmas trees from star to skirt

Meanwhile Santa will:

make 120 appearances across Daish’s hotels – that’s as many visits as there are reindeer hooves on Santa’s sleigh…multiplied by 15!
