According to a recent survey, 55 per cent of respondents agree that impatience has led to a change in opinion, making it more acceptable to pop the question themselves than ever before.
Leading wedding and events specialist Dine canvassed the opinions of almost 200 women to determine whether the Leap Year, a momentous day when women can propose to men, would encourage them to get down on one knee.
The results revealed that a staggering 42 per cent have seriously considered taking the bull by the horns and proposing to their other halves, with almost a quarter (25 per cent) agreeing that the Leap Year would inspire them to take the plunge.
When asked what had held them back from proposing previously, a shy 57 per cent (more than half) confessed to lacking confidence and so in response to this, Dine has teamed up with love and life coach, Viv Hulland to hold a Proposal Masterclass. The event aims to provide women with everything they need to ask that all important question on the 29th February.
The free Proposal Masterclass will take place at The Mansion at Roundhay Park from 6.30pm on Thursday 16th February, hot on the heels of the most romantic day of the year Valentine's Day when women across the region are likely to feel the most inspired. The evening will include a champagne reception, and will cover everything from confidence boosting tips, to role play to empower them just in the nick of time.
Daniel Gill, managing director at Dine said, "We are really excited about holding this Proposal Masterclass. It's a new idea for us but as we spend every day with couples on the verge of getting married we wanted to do something to spread a little love and encourage a few more proposals! The session will empower women in a fun, informal way and will hopefully encourage them to take control and deliver the perfect proposal for their partner."
