Gary Fawcett, Chairman of Keighley Cougars Rugby Club
How long have you been chairman?
Two years
What changes have you brought to the club?
I believe I have brought a business focus to the club to ensure that there is long term viability and sustainability.
what do you see happening for the season ahead?
I think we will do well. We'll cause some surprises and finish the season in a good position. This season will then provide a platform for further successes next season in our push to provide a strong bid for the Super League franchise.
Any new initiatives/changes i.e. new corporate and function suite?
Yes, we are gradually changing the existing stadium to improve it for use over the next 4 seasons but, ideally, we need to focus and achieve a new stadium for the club if we wish to achieve Super League status.
There's been a lot of speculation about the cost of the team -comments?
All within budget and the cost is significantly less than some teams in the Championship.
Challenges for the season ahead?
Just to ensure that we create a belief in Keighley and the surrounding area that the future is a positive one for the Cougars.
