The salon was set up last May by Helen Turnock. A true professional, her salon offers high quality service and the latest treatments, incuding Chocotherapy Chocolate Massage treatments - a great way of indulging in chocolate without the calories(!) and it is the only salon to offer Chocotherapy in the area.
Customers lie face down on a massage bed in the tranquil beauty room inbetween heated sheets for extra comfort. Before the treatment starts, all customers who have booked for massage and facial treatments are treated to a 'welcome touch' which is a relaxing foot treatment with heated mitts.
Then chocolate heaven it is... pieces of 100% cocoa are melted down and blended with your choice of scented oils from Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Orange, Turkish Delight, After 6ix (peppermint), Vanilla Icing and BountyLuscious. The mixture is then poured onto the back which creates the massage medium.
Chocolate contains essential trace elements and nutrients such as Iron, Zinc and Potassium, as well as an array of skin-beneficial vitamins including Vitamins A, B, C and E. Cocoa is also the highest natural source of magnesium, with this deficiency being linked to hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, joint problems and pre-menstrual tension. It is rich in cocoa butter which soothes and hydrates the skin leaving it luxuriously soft and smooth. This treatment also taps into the endorphins sending anti-stress messages to your brain, enhancing your mood.
Once the massage is complete, the chocolate is removed and the treatment is finished with the application of White Chocolate Body Butter, which melts into an oil upon contact with the skin, leaving you de-stressed and relaxed, with silkily smooth skin.
It is a unique experience as most massages are completed using only oil but with Chocotherapy, its richer smells are good enough to eat!
