Furniture components company Peter Cook International (Peter Cook) is looking to further its expansion through acquisition. The Cross Green-based company is already in the advanced stages of negotiation with two furniture manufacturing sector-related organisations.
"Since taking over the business six years ago, we have very steadily turned it around and have seen sustained growth of between 20% and 30% year-on-year for the past three years," commented Peter Cook managing director Carl Pickup.
"We've achieved very strong half year results, £1.45m turnover from April to September 2011 which is a 25% increase on the same period last year - and that's supposed to be our quieter period!
"We will continue to validate our ethos in providing an extensive range of good quality products at competitive prices and which are delivered on time."
Peter Cook holds over 1000 products in stock, and supplies a further 4000 different items used in the manufacture of furniture, ranging from glides and metal feet to swivel bases, springs and sofa bed mechanisms and supplies . The company sources products from all over the world and sells to over 700 upholsterers and furniture manufacturers in the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Customers include furniture manufacturers for all of the major high street furniture retailers, contract manufacturers for the healthcare, hotel, leisure and education sectors and individual upholstery companies.
It employs 21 staff at its operations in Leeds and Long Eaton, Nottingham.
Summarising the company's plans, Carl Pickup added: "The aim is to double turnover in the next two years. In addition to extending our product range, pro-actively seeking new markets and investing in additional sales and marketing resources, we are in search of companies with strategic fit who would benefit from our management expertise."
