Youngsters Flying High At Manchester Airport

Youngsters can book a virtual flight on the recently launched Fly360 Flight Simulator at Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park (RVP) as part of a programme of holiday activities.

The popular family attraction, located opposite Runway One, has announced a programme of summer events and activities including the return of its popular Flight Academy experience for 4-12-year-olds.

And, as part of the programme, those visiting the RVP can also book their virtual flight on the Fly360 simulator, the only one of its kind in the North West.

The 90-minute Flight Academy sessions, for children aged 4-12, give those taking part the chance to find out about the various different roles at the airport, from ground handlers to cabin crew, sit in the cockpit of a real aircraft and ‘take control’ of the flight deck.
They then head outside to the viewing deck overlooking the runway and airfield to see all of this in action.

Places are now available for sessions in late July and throughout August, with adult-and-child tickets at only £12. Those taking part can also take advantage of discounted parking at £5 for the full day, giving them the chance to explore the remainder of the RVP’s facilities at their own pace.

The viewing deck offers the chance to watch aircraft such as the giant A380 coming and going at close quarters, and the RVP’s retired airliners including the iconic Concorde are open for tours.

Attractions cater to everyone from casual visitors to aviation enthusiasts and an on-site café offers a Click-and-Collect service.

Those visiting the RVP on the August Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday 28th August and Monday 29th August) will be able to enjoy a family fun weekend, with a range of special activities for all ages.
