Sweco Completes MLM Group Integration As The Business Targets UK Growth

Engineering, environment, design and regulatory consultancy Sweco UK has completed the integration of MLM Group into the business to expand the services and expertise it provides to the UK and Ireland market.
Sweco acquired the firm - one of the UK’s largest, privately-owned engineering, environmental and building control consultancies - in 2019. The integration now brings MLM Group under the Sweco brand.

The move combines MLM Group’s specialist expertise in structural engineering, rail and compliance with Sweco’s skills in transportation, environment, energy and building design.

The business, which employs 204 people at its headquarters in Leeds, has also expanded its offering with two new service lines.

The new Advisory and Planning division will support clients in tackling the challenges of sustainability, climate change, urbanisation and digitalisation, by providing specialist advisory services and scheme planning support early in the project lifecycle.

The Building Standards division will provide clients with regulatory services in the areas of building regulation, CDM and quality assurance, and will operate as one of the largest approved inspectors in the UK.

Sweco currently employs 1,245 people and consults on projects across the UK and Ireland via its network of 21 regional offices.
