Say Cheese - Smiles All Round As Wensleydale Creamery Re-opens

The Wensleydale Creamery, based at Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, has announced plans for the reopening of its popular Cheese Shop, Gift Shop and Coffee Shop Garden to serve food and drink outdoors, and to take away, from Monday 12th April.

Customers can sample the Creamery’s delicious new menu which champions their artisan cheese range and fantastic local produce in the 1987 Coffee Shop Garden, whilst soaking up the stunning panoramic views of Wensleydale and the Yorkshire Dales.

The popular Cheese & Gift Shop will also reopen for customers and fans to pick up their favourite handcrafted Yorkshire Wensleydale cheeses, along with locally sourced accompaniments from Yorkshire food producers, including crackers, chutney, pickles, honey, charcuterie, oils, and Yorkshire Butter.

With handcrafted gifts and exclusive new ranges from local artist Lucy Pittaway, customers can also discover locally made fruit cake, biscuits, and sweet treats, along with craft ales, wine, port, and artisan gin.

Trish Cannon, Visitor Centre Director at the Wensleydale Creamery, commented:
“We’re excited to be reopening our Cheese and Gift Shop, and Coffee Shop Garden to serve food and drink outdoors, as well as offering takeaway food.

“We’ve missed our loyal customers at our popular Visitor Centre and look forward to welcoming them back. We’ve created a fantastic new Coffee Shop menu to take away, or be enjoyed from our garden, where the amazing views are ready and waiting to be enjoyed!

“We’re also excited to show off the new artwork ranges by local artist, Lucy Pittaway and our shelves are fully stocked with amazing produce for our visitors to discover.

"We’re working hard to ensure that our customers and staff remain safe upon reopening and we can’t wait to open our doors!”

The team are awaiting Government guidance for the reopening of Calvert’s Restaurant and Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience with Demonstrations and Cheesemaking Viewing Gallery in May.
