As part of the Cultural Odyssey Tours customers will travel with an expert lecturer who will share their specialist knowledge, offering deep insight into themes including art, ballet, history and music. The journeys will include lectures, performances, and carefully curated visits, some of which will be exclusive to Saga customers, with backstage access and private viewings. The itineraries will cover a variety of interests and destinations such as Art and Ballet in St Petersburg and Astronomy in Africa.

The programme launches with a brand-new partnership between Saga and the Royal Academy of Music.

About to celebrate its bicentenary, the Academy is the oldest conservatoire in the UK and renowned for attracting the finest young musicians from all over the world, making it ideally placed to create music-themed holidays. The specialist tours and river cruises will feature Academy students, who will perform exclusively for Saga customers.

Further partnerships for other tours in the range will be announced in the coming months.

Chris Simmonds, CEO of Saga Holidays, said:“We are always seeking to provide our customers with unique experiences, and our new range of Cultural Odyssey Tours will offer those with serious interests a holiday of a lifetime.

“We are delighted to partner with the Royal Academy of Music, with which we will work in delivering exceptional programmes with serious musical content. We are also working behind the scenes on a number of other partnerships for this new range of holidays which we will announce in due course.”

Jonathan Freeman-Attwood CBE, Principal of the Royal Academy of Music, said:“Saga is all about discovery, leisure and how a holiday can be life-enhancing on many levels. Music can play a wonderful part.

"What is more thrilling than hearing a remarkably talented young person perform with real expertise and conviction? We want to share such experiences with the Saga community.”

Saga’s new Cultural Odyssey Tours brochure will launch in the coming months and the holidays will commence in 2022.

The new range of holidays comes as Saga announced that it would be mandatory for all customers to be fully vaccinated before travelling with the company. This decision was taken with the health and safety of customers as the number one priority. The new vaccination policy will be in addition to the detailed arrangements we have already put in place for when operations can restart.
