One Man Bridge Leads To Loxley

One Man Bridge, a special brew from Sheffield's Loxley Brewery, is available tomorrow at their two pubs, The Raven Inn, in Walkley, and The Wisewood Inn, in Loxley.

Trade has been brisk at both pubs since they re-opened and regulars are getting the opportunity to sample this excellent cask beer first before it is distributed to other select pubs in the Sheffield area.

A very sessionable American Pale at 4.6% ABV, with citrus notes and a crisp, clean finish, it is zesty with ample amounts of American hops, including Azacca. The name 'One Man Bridge' refers to a small bridge in Loxley, in the woodland clearly visible from The Wisewood.

The brewery was started in 2017 by local entrepreneur, Stephen Wesley, a real ale fan, who has turned the once derelict Wisewood into a hub of the community in north-west Sheffield, serving excellent beer and good food. Now firmly established in Sheffield, the brewery sells throughout South Yorkshire and parts of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

David Woodhead, as head brewer, assisted by the owner's son, Christian Wesley, currently brew 750 litres twice a week. They say this is a one-off special, not to be missed, so sup it while you can. It is a beer to be enjoyed while the summer is still with us.

Their classic Yorkshire bitter, Halliday, was our beer of the week recently and its details may be found at: https://yorkshiretimes.co.uk/article/Good-Ales-From-Loxley-Spring
