Local Cheese Shop And Creperie Team Up

Skipton’s ‘The Flip Side’ crêperie to ‘pop up’ at The Courtyard Dairy this Christmas.

The Courtyard Dairy on the A65 near Settle has teamed up with Skipton crêperie ‘The Flip Side’ to encourage people to continue to support their local shops during the Covid restrictions this Christmas.

Andy Swinscoe, owner of The Courtyard Dairy, explains:
“Social distancing is making it difficult for shops to serve their customers as efficiently as they’d like, and we are no exception. We really want to offer the same fabulous experience as usual, but with social distancing it physically just can’t be done. And Christmas is coming up – our busiest time of the year – when for many of our customers their visit to the shop to buy really special cheese is part of their Christmas routine. So we’ve had to think hard how to offer something extra to make up for having to queue during the Covid restrictions.”

The solution has been to team up with The Flip Side so that customers that find themselves having to wait to be served at The Courtyard Dairy in the period 14th to 23rd December can remain amused and contented, enjoying a freshly-made delicious savoury or sweet crêpe. The crêperie will be making the crêpes to order from their ‘pop-up’ servery.

As usual, there’ll be cheese-makers also on-hand offering samples and chatting to customers about their cheese, and a temporary second on-site shop which should help to cut the Christmas cheese shopping queues in a responsible way.

“It’s important that we continue to support traditional farm-made cheese this Christmas,” says Andy,
“and these initiatives will hopefully help to make it just as much fun and as easy to shop with us as usual, whilst ensuring everyone remains safe. And it’s wonderful to team up with another successful local business allowing us to offer even more to our customers.”
