Jones Myers Named Premier Niche Family Law Firm In Esteemed Legal Guide

Jones Myers has retained its top tier position in the latest Legal 500 rankings which praises the practice as “the county’s premier niche practice law firm.”

The firm is the only family law practice with a York office among the guide’s top tier firms which are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and North Yorkshire.

Legal 500 praises Jones Myers strong teamwork across all aspects of family law. It also applauds how the firm adapted to the challenges presented during the pandemic, “offering face to face activity within the social distancing rules but also adapting technology to ensure a superb quality of service”.

Director and partner Richard Peaker, who heads the Financial Remedies department, and partner Kate Banerjee, who leads the Children’s Department, are named as Leading Individuals.

The publication, based on client and peer recommendations, also lists partner Nicki Mitchell, a mediator and collaborative family lawyer who heads the York office, as a key member along with senior solicitor, Anthony Parrish from the children’ department.

Highlighting how the firm’s clients include senior members of the medical profession, partners in legal practices and small and medium sized enterprises, the guide also draws on ones Myers strong track record in the farming sector and in dealing with onshore and offshore trusts.

Founded by leading divorce lawyer Peter Jones in 1992, the practice which has offices in Leeds, Harrogate and York, has retained its joint Tier 1 position in the guide for over two decades.

Earlier this year Jones Myers was named a finalist in the nationwide eprivateclient Excellence Awards which recognise practices who consistently provide outstanding levels of service to their clients.

The firm is also in the final line up of the forthcoming ‘Family Law Firm of the Year North’ category of this year’s Family Law Awards after clinching the title in 2020.
