If you’re a competitor and you’re a horse person, once you’re on your horse it all just disappears, it’s the 23 hours every day between riding where you’re left to think about the whole thing and the competition and the sport. That’s why it gets more difficult but I’m still standing so I’m going to have one more sleepless night and go for tomorrow.
Carl Hester, Equestrian

I'm lost for words to be honest. This medal means everything to me. I've had a lot of people in my life that helped me to get where I am today.

I couldn't do it without the support they gave to me. I hope I made a lot of people proud. Honestly, I couldn't be happier.

I said to myself: just do the best you can. Especially after seeing there were two ridiculously high scores up first.
Jake Jarman, Gymnastics

That race was just passion. It wouldn’t have been possible without Steve. He’s the best coach I've ever known. He put his heart and soul into this project to get us across that line. He knows it, but we're just so grateful to him. That message from the Sydney 2000 eights - those guys just gave us all everything we needed.

I think this medal is more than just us standing here and us lot in the boat. It’s the people past and present, our friends and family, all our support network and everyone that plays the National Lottery. So thank you for that. Anyone that's got any ambition, go out there and believe in yourself and do it.
