Enjoy The Beautiful Country In God’s Own County!

Italy may be off the cards for many due to quarantine rules, but holiday makers can still enjoy a slice of il bel paese (the Beautiful country!) by recreating Tuscany’s glorious gastronomy and undulating landscapes in Yorkshire!

This two-to-three day Hilton road trip itinerary is ready for you to be transported far away when time is tight and restrictions remain liberal!

SWAP TUSCANY, ITALY FOR YORKSHIRE
Florence in Yorkshire
Begin your taste of la dolce vita, Yorkshire style in the county’s capital. Packed with history and heritage to rival Florence, including an iconic gothic cathedral of its own, you can easily pass a day strolling around the medieval Shambles. Centrally located and overlooking the historic City Wall and the Monk Bar, the DoubleTree by Hilton York is the perfect base from which to explore the city. Fuel for the days ahead at the Yorkshire Bar and Grill, which offers a delightfully curated selection of regional and seasonal fare.

Swap Val’ D’Orcia for the Dales
Head straight to the Yorkshire Dales the following day for a one day driving extravaganza. Start with a stroll around the picturesque market town of Skipton and gorge on a ‘farm to table’ brunch at Keelham Farm, before heading into the beautiful countryside towards Grassington, then east through the heady inclines of the Nidderdale Valley. Round your trip off with a stop in Ripon, one of England’s oldest towns, passing the beautiful and other-worldly Brimham Rock formations on your way.

R&R in Harrogate
Head to DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa for the night. Tuscany is rich in healing thermal waters (the term spa even comes from Latin: salus per aquam, health through water) as is Harrogate, so once you have checked into your room in the Victorian manor, overlooking expansive grounds, be sure to imbibe the mineral rich waters downstairs at the spa. When in Rome…
