Ten Years Together
Staff from YDMT and People’s Postcode Lottery celebrate 10 years together at Muker hay meadows
Local charity Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is celebrating ten years of support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Over the last decade YDMT has received an incredible £1,626,332 from players of the charity lottery. This has played a crucial role in a wide range of projects that support the people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales.

Michael Devlin, Development Manager at YDMT, said:
“We can’t believe it has been 10 years, and more than £1.6 million raised! This incredible support has transformed us as a charity and enhanced all aspects of our work.

"It’s enabled us to continue long-running projects such as woodland planting whilst also helping us respond to the changing needs in our area through a number of new schemes over the years.

"On behalf of all at YDMT, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all staff and players of People’s Postcode Lottery for the incredible support which has enabled us to achieve so much for the Dales.”

A few of the team from People’s Postcode Lottery recently visited YDMT in the Yorkshire Dales to see some of the charitable work in action.

The group walked among the birds and bees in the fantastic flower-rich hay meadows at Muker to learn about YDMT’s ongoing efforts to protect and restore these precious habitats.

They also visited an adult learning project in Askrigg - one of many community initiatives to receive a grant from YDMT to help support local people.

Laura Chow, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery said:
“It is exciting to think that in 2018 YDMT passed a wonderful milestone: 10 years of support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

"This long term, flexible funding has allowed YDMT to continue to deliver inspirational projects that make a big difference across the Yorkshire Dales.”

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £330 Million for good causes like YDMT to date, with a minimum of 32% of the ticket price going to charities and good causes.
