Red Cross Fundraiser - Hurricane Irma Appeal Fund
The tragic consequences of the Atlantic Hurricane are currently being felt across North America and the Caribbean.
On Saturday 16 September, Picturehouse at Science and Media Museum is holding a fundraiser screening of the 20-minute IMAX documentary Hurricane 3D, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross's Hurricane Irma Appeal Fund.
Additional donations to the fund can be made via redcross.org.uk
Hurricane tells the story of a 15,000-kilometer journey in the footsteps of one of the most devastating natural events on our planet: the Atlantic Hurricane. A mere breeze at its conception, as it sweeps over the African Sahel it becomes a monsoon, before setting out across the Atlantic as a deepening depression.
"Hurricane 3D will be our first 20-minute IMAX documentary, offering a shorter, but no less immersive IMAX experience to those visiting the National Science and Media Museum on a weekend and during the holidays," says Marketing Manager Roxy van der Post.
"In the light of recent events, we have decided to host a fundraiser screening to support the Red Cross's Hurricane Irma Appeal Fund while also raising awareness and learning more about the phenomenon."
