Preview: Coastline Festival, Whitby

This one day boutique festival is being held on Saturday 6 August to help raise funds for the cash strapped Whitby Town FC.

Rather than try to raise funds via the normal routes such as a raffle or sponsored events, promoter Dennis Hobson has assembled a line up that is headed up by the legendary 10cc.

Graham Gouldman from the band may not be a big football fan but liked the idea so much of the novel way of trying to raise funds for the struggling football club, that he came on board.

Best known for the hits, I'm Not In Love, The Things We Do For Love and Dreadlock Holiday the band are still a superb live act.

Gouldman is an accomplished songwriter who has also written hits for The Hollies and Hermans Hermits as well as being part of the successful 80's duo Wax with Andrew Gold.

Also appearing are The Real Thing who will no doubt be performing their massive summer hit from 1976, You To Me Are Everything.

There will be support too from Billy Bibby and the Wry Smiles, The Mexanines and Whitby band, Raw 60's.

Tickets are £38 with children under 16 going free with every full paying adult. VIP packages are available for £100.
