Pre-School Swim Programme Arrives In East Yorkshire
A local mum of two is set to make a splash in the East Yorkshire region with the launch of her new baby swim programme, Turtle Tots. Having previously spent almost three years teaching babies to swim as a class teacher for a large competitor, (a well-known baby swimming franchise) Judith Johnston is well-trained and experienced in helping little ones and their parents to build confidence in the water. But working for such a large organisation had its drawbacks so Judith looked for a programme that offered a more personal touch, but still delivered the same high quality swim programme parents have come to expect.
"Helping babies to learn to swim is a real passion for me, but being part of a much larger franchise meant that the programme was very regimented with little flexibility or freedom for me to put my own personal touch on it; something was missing. When I came across Turtle Tots it was a no-brainer because it had everything I was looking for in a career, - flexibility, the freedom to put my own stamp on my classes and the opportunity to join a growing number of licensees across the country."
Prior to her baby swim career, Judith was a surveyor for five years but the arrival of her two children meant the long hours took their toll and Judith decided it was time to pursue a new career path. She currently lives with her husband and children on a farm on the outskirts of Malton.
"I run classes in Scarborough, Hull and Malton and it's also nice to be able to offer aqua natal yoga sessions too, something that many of our competitors are yet to become established in. My classes offer a great bonding experience for parents and their babies, the chance to meet other likeminded people and to give their baby that all-important muscular and cardio workout that they otherwise wouldn't have had until they were old enough to crawl".
Judith's programme offers affordable, safe, structured swim classes for babies and she also plans to expand her classes into the North Lincolnshire region in the Autumn of 2015. As part of her commitment to the programme, Judith has also pledged a percentage of her revenue to be donated to Riding for the Disabled (a registered charity) http://www.rda.org.uk/ and being a qualified riding instructor herself, Judith knows only too well the benefits these children will get from her support.
Caroline Sparks, Commercial Director of Turtle Tots Ltd commented on the launch of the East Yorkshire swim programme:
"Judith has a great deal of experience working in the water with babies and young children, her calm and friendly personality ensures parents and their children feel at ease and have fun at her classes. We are really looking forward to seeing Judith grow her business in the future."
