Forestcar Launches New Car Sharing Services To Manchester Airport
ForestCar has launched a new car sharing service for travellers in and out of Manchester Airport, promising sun worshippers to earn while they burn!
Visitors to Manchester Airport can now access free airport parking and car cleaning if they opt to participate in the company’s car sharing programme as an alternative to traditional airport parking.
They get free airport stays in return for renting their vehicles to us whilst away, and the company promises to insure and monitor vehicles for the duration of the ‘rental’ period with a commitment to return them ‘sparkling clean’.
By fitting telematics devices into all rented vehicles, the hire company is able to safely monitor how and where vehicles are being driven and intervene if renters aren’t driving responsibly. Customers take a share of rental fees and never have to pay for parking, even when renters are not sourced.
Speaking about the new Manchester Airport launch, CEO Charlie Palmer said, “We are delighted to be able to introduce car sharing services to Manchester Airport visitors. By making car sharing safe, we’re allowing airport visitors to turn car parking cost into income, whilst also benefiting the environment.”
As well as providing safe car sharing services, tackling climate change is core to the company's mission. By eliminating the need for rental vehicles, car sharing reduces the environmental impact of car production. They are also helping to tackle vehicle emissions by investing 10% of their profits into the planting of new trees in rainforests. And customers can get involved too by choosing to invest some of their earnings in trees.
“...we don’t just want to disrupt the rental industry, we want to use sharing as a force for tackling climate change. We want to create a global community of travellers who share their cars and help restore rainforests. The net impact of [our service is that there will be], will be fewer cars in society, more trees in tropical rainforests, and less CO2 choking up the atmosphere”, said Charlie Palmer.
