Bye Bye Roaming Fees!
From June 15th roaming charges across the EU will be a thing of the past. Holidaymakers, students and business travellers will be able to call, text and use data for the price they pay at home while travelling across the 28 EU member states.

Linda McAvan MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber said:
'Labour MEPs have campaigned for the end to roaming charges for many years. Finally being able to 'roam like at home' will mean that British people will no longer be lumped with surprising phone bills when they return from a trip to another EU country'.

Mobile phone operators across the EU were given two years notice to prepare this date. The end of roaming charges benefits millions of businesses and consumers and shows the clear advantage of the Single Digital Market.

Linda added:
"The end to roaming is a very welcome move but it may also be a short-lived benefit for us here in the UK. With the date of Brexit fast approaching and Theresa May unready to start negotiating an exit deal despite triggering Article 50 last March, there has been no clarification on whether British people and businesses will once again be faced with rip-off bills and reduced consumer rights after March 2019".
