Album Review: The Best Of Dreamboats And Petticoats (Universal Music TV)

The Dreamboats and Petticoats albums, and long running theatre shows, have been very successful over the past few years, with the albums regularly topping the compilation album charts, and the stage show selling out at Bradford's Alhambra Theatre.

Released on Monday 3 November comes the new, three CD compilation, The Best of Dreamboats and Petticoats which has 84 tracks from the late 1950s and early 1960s; including Roy Orbison and 'Only The Lonely', Dion and 'Runaround Sue' and Chris Montez and 'Let's Dance'. It's not only American acts on the compilation, as the UK is represented with Petula Clark, The Shadows and Marty Wilde.

It was an era of innocence and good music and whilst some of the tracks sound of their time, others are templates of what you still hear in music today. Whether you are re-visiting your youth or want to discover the roots of popular music then this compilation is worthy of your attention.
