Album Review: Cheryl - Only Human (Polydor)

The former Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge has just released a new album. You might think that it is not up to much but that is far from the case.

The introduction to the album is a speech about what you would like to do with your life if money is no object. Perhaps she is asking her fans to make the best out of their life? Perhaps it is a lesson that she has learnt that happiness is better than striving for money?

The same words from the speech are used as the lyric for Live Life Now; the track is a take on Britney Spears and sounds like her last few singles. Its About Time is one of the best tracks on the album: a joyful house music inspired number that will sound good on the dance floor as well as the radio. These two tracks are all on the theme of living in the moment and seem autobiographical.

Only Human is a touching ballad whilst Stars is a confident pop/dance track that Rita Ora would steal for. At 15 tracks long the album is tad overlong and there could have been some pruning done, nevertheless, the album covers pop, dance and R&B and in its field it is an accomplishment.
