Interview: Sanja Vucic (ZAA)
For those not in the know, tell us a little about yourself...
I am free, open, unstoppable, always ready to test the boundaries of my vocal abilities, to try every genre I have interest in.
What appealed to you about entering Eurovision?
The diversity, the fact that every year this contest brings a great deal of artists, songs, musicians and performers. It is a magnificent spectacle.
How did you feel when you found out you would be representing Serbia?
It is mild to say I was surprised, I was mind blown, amazing feeling.
Your song is called Goodbye (Shelter), tell us about it...
The song carries with itself a strong emotion, and even stronger message. All through history women have been dealing with abuse, and it has been addressed from all sides, this is one tribute to it in our own making, and where to address it better, and for a greater mass to see it then on Eurovision, we hope the message and the idea will get through and that we'll never stop fighting.
Have you listened to your competitors yet? If so, which is your current favourite?
I have heard almost all of them. Personally I really like Croatia, Georgia, Israel and Norway. But in general, all songs are amazing and unique in their own way.
Have you spoken to any past entrants? If so, what advice have they had?
I was talking with a few of them and they gave me big support and
self-confidence.
What is your favourite Eurovision entry of all time
My ultimate favourite song is Armenian from 2009, Inga&Anush "Jan Jan".
What do you hope to achieve with your appearance at Eurovision?
I expect good reactions. Hope to get the message through.
What is success for you in the contest?
Partaking in the Eurovision Song Contest is a success.
Lastly, if you could duet with one past entrant, who would it be?
We had many of them.... maybe with Marija ?erifovi? or Jelena Toma?evi?.
