Pharrell Williams Supported By Foxes - Manchester Arena

Foxes
Foxes
British female vocalist Foxes rose to prominence when she was the lead singer on Clarity which was a Top 10 hit in America for dance producer Zedd last year.

Landing the support slot on Pharrell Williams European tour is a major coup for her. It was the first night of the tour and if she has first night nerves, it did not show.

With her 3 piece band she looked visually like Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, with her long black gown. Her mannerisms are very theatrical with plenty of waving of the arms and gestures.

Her music is very catchy and it was most successful tracks that stood out such as Glorious and Right Here the Rudimental track that she sang lead vocals on. Confident and in control she looks like we will be hearing more from her in the future. She has a great voice.

Pharrell Williams is one of the hottest producers and vocalists in pop music in 2014; you cannot fail to have heard Happy, his best selling track and the biggest hit this year. Whether he could build an arena show around that and his other tracks was always debatable but he cane out shining.

The tour is sponsored by a famous sportswear company so their logo is on the back of Williams' jeans and his 6 dancers and 2 backing singers wear their sportswear. Credit to the dancers who were very slick and their choreography was spot on.

"Let's take it back" he informs his fans as he performs his old track he wrote whilst in The Neptunes, Frontin' which featured Jay-Z. The tracks off his new album GIRL sound good too with Brand New justifying his current success.

Who else could round off their gig with 3 of the biggest pop tracks of the last 18 months? Robyn Thicke's Blurred Lines and Daft Punk's hit, Get Lucky, tracks he has written, produced and sung on, along with Happy closed a surprisingly refreshing gig as confetti cannons showered the audience with red and white confetti leaving even the most cynical amongst the audience, happy.
