Album Review: The Scorpions - Return To Forever (Sony Music)

With AC/DC, Whitesnake and The Scorpions all releasing new albums you would think that rock is back in fashion. The groups might be considered old masters now and The Scorpions have released one of the best of their career with this new album.

Whether this is going to be The Scorpions last album or not is undecided: if it is then as the first tracks on the album suggest, they are certainly Going Out with a Bang.

You would think after all these years that they would be resting on their laurels, not so, this album is an unexpected surprise. Going Out with A Bang starts off with a bluesy feel before leashing a huge guitar riff on you that AC/DC would be proud to use.

We Built This House is a good rock ballad before Rock My Car is in the mould of a classic rock track, it has more hooks in the track than a North Sea fisherman's trawler net.

All For One and Rock n Roll Band are tracks that shouldn't be as good as they are from a band who have been going for over 35 plus years.

The album has 12 tracks and there is hardly a bad one amongst them. Superb.
