Album Review: Blue - Colours (Sony Music)

The group Blue return with this new album of soulful songs which include quite a few cover versions.

The unknown songs tend to be far superior to the more well known songs. The album opens with their new single King of the World; the track owes a lot to Sitting on the Dock of the Bay although the track is quite appealing.

The track you're The One is a track you could imagine being sung by old soul groups such as The Stylistics or Tavares. Home could be their next single as it is a very commercial cut.

Their take on If You Don't Know Me By Now and Rod Stewarts I Don't Want to Talk about It are good but are nowhere near as good as the original versions.

It is a mixed album and will probably appeal to their faithful fans but not beyond that.
