Album Review: Airbourne - Breakin Outta Hell

Australian rock outfit Airbourne have many things in common with AC/DC. If you like AC/DC you will definitely like Airbourne. They sound like them and lyrical content brings to mind them too.

Don't expect too much meaning in the lyrics. On opening track, Breakin Outta Hell, a high energy rock track the lyric goes "like a bullet from a gun, I was born to run". Mixed with a touch of the blues, speeded up of course, the band are on top form on the title track.

You half expect the band to launch into Back in Black on the next track but Rivalry is a track that will sound great live when the band tour the UK in November. You can see all the hands in the air already.

Basically the album is a no holds barred rock album. If AC/DC has Whole Lotta Rosie then Airbourne have Down On You, as the lyric content subject wise is very similar.

These tracks are made to be played live, very loud in a hot sweaty atmosphere. Now that most of the original members of AC/DC have had to retire and there is now only one original member left in the line up, it could be that Airbourne will pick up a lot of new fans with this album.

With title tracks such as Never Been Rocked Like This and When I Drink I Go Crazy, you get the picture of what to expect.

It's not thought provoking, it's not rock science but it is a hell of a good time.

In their genre they are brilliant. It is basically just good time Rock 'n' Roll.
