Album Review - Maroon 5 - V - Interscope

It would be easy to knock Maroon 5 as they always seem to make it look so easy to come up with memorable pop songs and even now on this new album they are still on a roll. Its good, in fact, very good.

Max Martin is the Executive Producer on the album; he has produced and written tracks for Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Jessie J and Taylor Swift amongst others. It's his pop sheen that brings these tracks to life along with the song writing skills of Maroon 5.

The album is so good that any of the 11 tracks here could be a hit single. The first track off the album Maps, is already a #1 hit, the track is basically a typical radio friendly Maroon 5 track whilst the next track Animals has that typical Maroon 5 chorus that once heard stays on your mind all day.

The best track on the album though comes towards the end of the album: Feelings is a superb pop track leads itself to a dance groove, it is the band at their best - toned, confident and uplifting. The album ends with My Heart is Open, a ballad with Gwen Stefani, this will probably be their Christmas single. For now though this is one of the best pop/rock albums of the year.

I give the album 4 out of 5.
